• The video must be between three and four minutes
I was happy with the resulting product. The succinctness of the video is useful in the context of a website - very few people will watch a long video.
The video gives a feel for the learning going on in the department. However, it could be argued that it does not demonstrate the true depth and breadth of the learning experiences in the department and the outcomes of learners.
• The video must accurately portray the range of learning that takes place across the department - including off site activities.
See above.
It might be interesting to storyboard the video so that there is a more clear ‘journey’ through the department and the experience of learners. Might be difficult to ‘narrate’ this without being too focussed upon an individual.
• The video should be learner focussed and not adult focussed - it should aim to reflect the learner’s experiences of Science at Nexus
Definitely achieves this with nearly all of the shots and view clearly being from a learner perspective and their experiences of the learning.
• Ideally, the video should be fairly timeless - able to be used for a long duration (the next 12-24 months).
The range of learners involved mean that it would allow this video to be used for the next 12 - 24 months - even with learners departing. As this is learner made, it reflects their learning. This is far more important than any individual(s).
• The video must contain a variety of different camera angles in a way that holds the viewers’ interest.
Certainly achieved this. However, it was also noted that the range of angles / shots did not affect the flow of the video. This could be a risk, should the variety be too diverse.
• The video must not contain inappropriate language and/or content.
Not an issue.
• The format of the video must be website-friendly, and the platform that I host my video on should be able to be embedded on other websites.
• The resolution of the video must be 1080p.
• Filming must be finished by March 20th/First Edit must be finished by March 27th/Final version of the film must be uploaded and shared with the client/those involved by April 14th
